He followed the noise to a window that looked into the basement. He looked in the window and saw a small girl crying in the corner. The window was mostly covered by trees. Zack looked for the door but it was smashed in by trees, and he wasn’t strong enough to move them. He was walking around the house when something caught his eye. It was a hole leading into the house small enough for a mouse. Zack quickly shape shifted into a tiny mouse and crawled through the hole. Super lady watched as the car fell over the side of the bridge toward the river below. After a second, a loud splash sounded as the car hit the water. Super lady noticed a family stuck inside the car panicking inside. Using her mind control powers, super lady brought the car out of the water and safely back onto the road of the bridge. Grade 5 Creative Writing Prompt “Persuasion” with sample answers https://letsshareknowledge.com/grade-5-creative-writing-prompt-persuasion-sample-answers/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=grade-5-creative-writing-prompt-persuasion-sample-answers Thu, 29 Nov 2018 15:14:07 +0000 http://www.letsshareknowledge.com/?p=14127 These Grade 5 Grammar and Creative Writing Worksheets are for understanding and practice purpose.

Persuasion

Writing Prompt: On a piece of paper, write an essay to convince someone why either zombies or vampires are better than the other. Include three main reasons.

This specific writing prompts requires you to write a persuasive essay. In other words, you want to come up with three reasons to persuade someone why one thing is better than the other. Your essay should have five separate paragraphs. The first should be the introduction. The second, third, and fourth paragraphs should be the three reasons, and the final paragraph should be the conclusion.

Before you begin writing, you’ll need to brainstorm ideas for your story. Think: Do you think vampires or zombies are better than the other? What are the three reasons you believe this? There are many different answers to each of these questions, so your story should be unique.

Take a look at the two sample answers provided in response to the given writing prompt. Sample answer number one is an essay trying to persuade the readers that zombies are better than vampires. The three reasons why  zombies are smarter is because they eat brains, zombies can go outside anytime during the day or night, and they are related to Frankenstein the monster who is awesome.

In sample answer number two, the writer is trying to persuade the readers that vampires are better than zombies. The three reasons why that are given are vampires have sharp teeth, vampires can turn into bats and fly, and vampires are faster than zombies.

Sample Answer #1

I think that zombies are better than vampires. I have three main reasons why I believe this. First, zombies are smarter than vampires because they eat brains. Second, zombies are able to go outside at any point during the day or night. Third, they are single minded.

First, I think zombies are much smarter than vampires are because they eat brains. All of those brains must make them smart. Being smart is a good characteristic for anyone to have.

Second, in addition to being smarter, I believe that zombies are also better because they can be outside at any point during the day or night. Vampires, on the other hand, can only be outside at night because they will burn if they are exposed to the sun. Because of this, vampires sleep all day and are lazy. Lazy people don’t get things done.

Finally, zombies are better than vampires because they are cousins of Frankenstein the monster, and Frankenstein is just plain awesome. So, anyone or anything related to him is also awesome.

Therefore, I believe that zombies are better than vampires. Zombies are smarter, can go out anytime, anywhere, and they are related to Frankenstein.

Example story #1

Question 1) In your story, what did you write was better than the other, vampires or zombies?
Answer: I wrote a persuasion essay arguing that zombies are better than vampires.

Question 2) List your first reason of persuasion for your opinion.
Answer: My first reason was that zombies are smarter than vampires because they eat brains.

Question 3) List your second reason of persuasion for your opinion.
Answer: My second reason was that zombies can be outside at anytime during the day and night whereas vampires can only be out at night.

Question 4) List your third reason of persuasion for your opinion.
Answer: My third reason was that zombies are related to Frankenstein the monster who is awesome, so zombies too must also be awesome.

Question 5) Choose the best choice synonym for the word persuade.
a) Convince b) Influence c) Encourage d) All of the above
Answer: d) All of the above

Question 6) How many paragraphs should a persuasion essay requiring FOUR reasons have?
Answer: A persuasion essay requiring four reasons should have six paragraphs – introduction, four reasoning paragraphs, and a conclusion.

Sample Answer #2

I believe that vampires are better than zombies for many reasons. The main reasons include vampires have sharp teeth, vampires can turn themselves into bats and fly, and vampires are fast.

First, vampires have very sharp teeth. These sharp teeth help them bite and chew things easily. Zombies have difficulty with this because their teeth aren’t sharp like vampire teeth.

My next reason is that vampires are better than zombies because they can fly. Zombies can’t fly. They can only walk and that is lame. Vampires are able to fly by turning themselves into bats. In this form, they are able to fly all around the sky.

Finally, my last reason is that vampires are fast. They are much faster than zombies. This is primarily because of their ability to fly. Vampires can cover more ground and get more done than zombies can because of their quickness.

In conclusion, it is clear that vampires are much better than zombies are. They have sharp teeth, can fly, and are fast. These are all great qualities that set them apart from zombies who have dull teeth, can’t fly, and are slow.

Example story #2

Question 1) In your story, what did you write was better than the other, vampires or zombies?
Answer: I wrote a persuasion essay arguing that vampires are better than zombies.

Question 2) List your first reason of persuasion for your opinion.
Answer: My first reason was that vampires have sharp teeth so they can bite things easily.

Opinion

Writing Prompt: On a piece of paper, write about an opinion you have on movies vs. books. Give at least two reasons why you think what you do.

Writing prompts may instruct you to write about fiction or nonfiction. In this prompt, you are instructed to write about your opinion on whether books or movies are better.

Before you begin writing, you’ll need to brainstorm ideas for your story. Think: Do you like movies or books better? Why? What are strong selling points of your opinion? There are many different answers to each of these questions, so your story should be unique.

Take a look at the two sample answers provided in response to the given writing prompt. Sample answer number one tells about the author’s opinion on why he thinks books are better than movies. His two reasons are that you can imagine more of the world in a book than you can when watching a movie and books help you learn vocabulary and writing skills unlike movies.

In sample answer number two, the author writes about her opinion of movies being better than books. She gives two reasons. One is that movies are more visually enjoyable than books. The second reason is that movies tell a story over a shorter period than books do.

Sample Answer #1

My opinion of movies versus books is that books are better than movies. I have two main reasons why I believe this.

First of all, I think books are better than movies because they allow you to immerse yourself into the world of the book and imagine things the way you want. There is more freedom to do this when reading a book than when watching a movie. When you watch a movie, everything visually plays out in front of you, including the events and the characters. However, in a book, you have more freedom to imagine these things yourself.

My second reason why I believe books are better than movies is that they help you learn. Reading books helps to strengthen your mind. It shows you different writing styles, can teach you grammar, and can teach you vocabulary. Further, reading books helps you to become a better writer yourself.

In conclusion, I think books are better than movies. I have two reasons why I believe this. One is that books give you the freedom to imagine the world more than movies. The second is that books help you to learn.

Question 6) Write one reason supporting the opposite of your opinion.
Answer: Movies are better than books because they are more visually appealing than books.

Sample Answer #2

My opinion on movies versus books is that movies are better than books. I believe this for two reasons. First, movies are more visually appealing than books. Second, movies play out a story quicker than books do.

To further support my opinion, I will give additional detail on my reasons. First, movies are primarily visual. Books, on the hand, are not very visually appealing. They are comprised of mainly text. Movies play out a story, the events, and its characters on a screen.

My second reason is that movies play out a story over a shorter time period than books do. To read a book takes a long time. Sometimes, I read books for days or weeks. I get anxious about how a story ends this way.

However, on the other hand, movies play out a story over a much faster time period, usually between one and a half and three hours. This is also good because it allows you to have time to do other important things.

Therefore, my opinion is that movies are better than books. They are more visually appealing than books are, and they tell a story over a shorter time period, allowing you more time to do other things.
