We have already learned how to solve time word problems.
Carefully check if the time in the problem is in 12-hours clock or 24-hours clock and then solve it accordingly.
Lets have a look at the following examples.
Example1:
Sara started doing her work at 14:00 hrs and finished it at 16:40 hrs. How much time did she take to finish her work?
Solution:
Here the times given are in 24-hour clock and we have to find the time elapsed.
- Sara took 2 hrs and 40 mins to finish her work.
Example2:
Ali left home for work at 10:15 a.m. and reached there after exactly 2 hours. What was the time when he reached his work place?
Solution:
Here the times given are in 12-hour clock and we have to find the ending time.
Ali reached there at 12:15 p.m.
